Individual Therapy for Adults
Sometimes you have only a vague sense of what's wrong - you may be irritable, your reactions disproportionate or inappropriate to circumstances. Maybe you or those close to you simply notice that you seem different. In some way, you're struggling. If not resolved, problems tend to fester and in the end, can disrupt even a happy, healthy life and household.
How you perceive your environment - consciously and unconsciously -- can affect your work, relationships, even your children. You can't feel better until you know what's wrong and it's extremely difficult to observe oneself and interpret what you see, particularly when what's bothering you is rooted in the unconscious.
Even if you can identify why you're seeking help, I can work with you to gain a better understanding of what's troubling you and how best to resolve it. Your past affects your present, though not always in obvious ways. By uncovering and interpreting your thoughts, feelings and past and present patterns of behavior, many of which will have been unconsciously held back, buried or distorted, I will help you learn more about what makes you tick and how you interact with the world. That new knowledge about yourself can enhance your creative and interpersonal skills at home and work. It can provide you with an increased sense of self-acceptance, self-awareness and inner peace.
Some of the problems I help with include:
- relationships
- self-esteem issues
- sadness or depression
- unexplained changes in sleep or eating habits
- anxiety
- stress
- anger
- life changes
- communication
- problem solving
- out-of-control emotions
- blockages in creative thinking
- sense of confusion or dissatisfaction
- intimacy issues
- work-related issues
- loneliness
- personal growth and greater emotional awareness
